LYRICS

I’m out of my area (x4)

This is not my world. This is not my place.

I’m out of my area and I’m feeling insecure.

This is not my space. This is not my area.

I’m feeling strange, I’m feeling insecure.

I’m out of my area (x4)

This is not my space, not my department, my office,

My  corridor, my students, my faculty, I’m feeling insecure.

Not my books, my computer, my shelves, my library, my pencil,

My frame, my lamplight, this is not my well known world.

Theodore was laying dead,

I was by his side, there, in the lake,

Water was frozen, trees had no leaf.

The sun was slept,

Clouds were dancing with the icy wind,

People was around his corpse,

I touched his lips, I remember his lips.

Child friend, goodbye,

Winter started roaming over you,

Your violet face hadn’t seen the sun

And the sun went down on Theodore.

I’ll try to find you in heaven.

Oh if heaven were a room.

Goodbye, Theodore.

I lived in my Euclidean world,

Distances were easy, all was plain,

Christoffel symbols were ought, you know what I mean.

La la la la, la la la la….

I lived in my euclidean world

Where with imagination you

knew things that happened around you,

You understood what happened around you,

La la la la……

I lived in my Euclidean world,

I don’t want to talk ‘bout Riemman, no no no

‘bout tensor calculus no, no, no

All these complIcated things no, no, no

La la la la….

I lived in my Euclidean world,

The sun woke up behind you oh,oh,oh

The sun woke up behind you oh,oh,oh

The sun woke up behind you oh,oh,oh

Now space is curved since you are gone, now space is curved since you are gone.

Coming from space,

They are magic things I dream

One day they arrived to me,

They are the D numbers, they are the D numbers.

They are free, they are not like you or me,

They can help us, they are strange,

They are, they are, they are the D numbers, they are…

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Genisse and Immanuel by the garden.

She wears a precious dress, he’s so kind tonight,

The moon is bright and they are small

discovering love for the first time.

There’s a question.

Stockholm. Midnight.

Theodore. Genisse. Björken.

What happens with I. Downs?

There’s nothing at rainbows end,

Nothing at rainbow’s end, nothing, nothing.

Things aren’t always the way you expect (them to be),

Things aren’t always the way you expect (them to be),

Sometimes they are harder, sometimes they are sadder…

(INSTRUMENTAL)

We think life’s long ‘cause we’re not happy.

Looking for a shortcut we get lost.

I told you I’d try to keep you always.

All those lies were innocent,

I just said what I felt, what I felt.

Now I can just say

That maybe in April,

We’ll join the flowers and

With them we’ll bloom,

And life will be short again,

We’ll have to steal it time, time.

Author's Comments

After resuming composition, during a period when I had decided to study theoretical physics—particles, relativity, quantum mechanics…—I made my very first electronic music album. It was rudimentary electronics using my newly bought 4-track recorder, while never forgetting that my music is fundamentally melodic and sentimental. The story follows a mathematician who is pushed into working with a dominant physicist, giving practical utility to his ideal world of pure mathematics. In parallel, he drifts away from his wife, and his professional success stands in stark contrast to his complete failure in the sentimental realm.
